Taojinhe Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Northeast Guizhou. The Taojinhe Fm was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey, Guizhou Bureau of Geology in 1974. The type section is around Biaoshuiyan-Taojinhe, Yinjiang County, northwest of Fanjing Mountain, Guizhou Province. It is the lowest formation of the Fanjingshan Gr.
Synonym: (淘金河组)
Lithology and Thickness
Lower part of the formation consists of greyish, grey and grey-green thick-bedded, medium-thick-bedded blasto-sandstone, blasto-siltstone and blasto-tuff sandwiched with slate. The sandstone possesses oblique bedding and erosion surface. Upper part is composed mostly of grey and greyish metamorphosed stratified diabase and gabbroic diabase. The thickness varies from 1000 m to 1330 m.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Bottom is not seen.
Upper contact
It is in conformable contact with overlying Yujiagou Fm.
Regional extent
East Guizhou. Biaoshuiyan-Taojinhe, Yinjiang County, northwest of Fanjing Mountain, Guizhou Province.
